August 18, 2017

As a class, we discussed some of the reasons European nations were exploring and settling in North America. Then, students had the remainder of class to read ch. 5-7 in Blood on the River. Monday we will take time for them to finish reading, and for us to apply the information gained from those chapters.

Students were asked to research/record the different reasons that the English, French, Dutch and Spanish were exploring and settling in North America. The document for them to record this information is in Google classroom.

Students had time to finish recording information about the countries they were researching yesterday. Then, as a class we discussed some aspects of culture that they learned. Next, students began working on looking at the physical characteristics and culture of countries in SE Asia and the South Pacific.
